Waterfront Inn is family-run Guest House / B&B / Hotel with 7 bedrooms, all en-suite, 4 of which have seaviews and all offer bed and breakfast. We appreciate that our guests’ enjoyment is the key to our success and we endeavour to offer high standards in customer service together with a personal touch.

We welcome dogs, and pets in general, throughout the hotel.

Charles Darwin, the author of The Origin of Species, the book on evolution which changed how many of us think about ourselves, stayed at the Waterfront Inn in 1858 when the property was known as the Norfolk House Hotel.

Our Location

Waterfront Inn has probably the best seafront location for a relaxing holiday or break. The Beach on our door step is excellent and best known Isle of Wight beaches with long stretches of golden sand and a gently sloping shore. It currently holds a Seaside Award. For Business or Pleasure, you will be extremely pleased with your choice.

Our rooms & services

There are up to 7 guest rooms at Waterfront Inn – 4 of which have sea views and all have an ensuite toilet and shower or bath. our B&B, we are a free house and offer a wide selection of cocktails, Isle of Wight ales, lagers, wines & spirits, together with a straightforward, homely menu that features local steaks and seafood in addition to the usual seaside favourites.

Ferry Deal

For our direct booker, we offer to book your ferry tickets on your behalf, this could save you up to 30% compared with the public rate. For the time being, this offer is only to the guests who book rooms on our website or over the phone.

Car parking

There is no on-site car parking available at Waterfront Inn. However, there is plenty of street parking directly in front of our hotel and 2 big car parks close by on the Esplanade. They are free of charge between November and February, and between March 1st and October 31st tourist permit issued by Isle of Wight Council is highly recommended. Ask our team for further information.

Dog friendly

Please note that we are dog-friendly. A charge of £10/dog is made (for extra cleaning) to have your dog stay in our bedroom. Dogs are also permitted in the public areas of the building except for the Darwin room.

Private function

At Waterfront we welcome you to celebrate your memorable times with us. Whether you need a space for a 50th birthday party or just a lunch with a few friends for a special occasion please let us know. We can arrange a separate menu, buffet or just a speciality cocktail.
